E-Learning Module Development

This portfolio sample showcases the development process of a typical e-Learning, web-based training (WBT) or computer-based training (CBT) module. Although not tailored for a specific client, this demonstration offers valuable insights into my work process and the quality of deliverables you can expect when we collaborate.

This particular e-Learning module addresses a critical aspect of workplace safety: the creation of a Blood-borne Pathogens (BBP) Exposure Control plan. As mandated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), employers must safeguard workers who may encounter blood or other potentially infectious materials during their duties. This module is tailored for healthcare managers, guiding them through the essential steps of formulating a comprehensive BBP Exposure Control plan. Through this sample, you’ll witness the efficiency and effectiveness of my approach, in delivering concise and impactful learning experiences.

Development Process

Project Design Document

When we embark on a collaborative journey, our initial focus is on establishing the overarching performance objective and specific learning outcomes necessary to reach it.

In this process, we develop a comprehensive project design document that delineates the performance objective, learning outcomes, and other vital components such as topic outline, estimated timeline, instructional strategies, and more. This document functions as a roadmap, ensuring clarity in understanding your vision while also providing you with a clear expectation of the project’s trajectory

Design

After finalizing and obtaining your approval on the design document, we dive into the exciting phase of the project. Here, we craft the instructional strategies, interactive elements, and multimedia components, which may involve drafting narration scripts and developing storyboards, depending on the project’s requirements.

Development and Delivery

After obtaining approval on the deliverables from the design phase, we proceed to witness the module come to life. This stage involves the creation and assembly of all elements, including animated videos, voice-over narrations, and development of module components using a development software (e.g., Articulate Rise 360 or Storyline 360).

The module undergoes several iterations wherein you review, provide feedback, and necessary changes are implemented. Then, rigorous testing ensues to ensure the highest quality before deployment. Finally, upon completion and your final approval, we deliver the finished module to you, ready for implementation.
